The Northwestern University Symphonic Band will perform at the North Central Division Conference of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) on Saturday, February 22, at 11:15 a.m. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at DePaul University’s Gannon Concert Hall in the Holtschneider Performance Center.
Shawn D. Vondran, associate director of bands at the Bienen School of Music, serves as conductor of Symphonic Band. The ensemble was selected via blind audition process to perform at CBDNA along with 10 other prestigious ensembles.

JANUARY 25, 2012 — EVANSTON, ILL. — Children will explore the power and excitement of brass, woodwinds and percussion at tomorrow's return of the Kids Fare concert series. The Northwestern University Symphonic Band will present “Band Illusions,” conducted by associate director of bands Timothy J. Robblee. He is an active conductor and clinician at music festivals and conferences throughout the United States. The concert is the first this spring in the annual Kids Fare series.
Presented by Northwestern University’s Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music, the series of hourlong performances aims to spark creativity in children aged 3 to 8 and provide them with the tools for enjoying, understanding and making music.
